Back when I had my wedding blog, I would spend HOURS (literally) on Pinterest.
(It was part of my job to find and share the best wedding inspiration and tips I could find and I took my job very seriously. 🥰)
But Pinterest was easier to manage back then. It was just about sharing what you loved. There were no schedules, no strategies, no algorithms, and no SmartFeed. You just had to pin!! Over time, Pinterest added features and rules and algorithms and all these things that made creative small business owners heads explode. Suddenly, pinning to Pinterest was HARD and I honestly avoided it like the plague when I first started The Productivity Zone.
But I knew I was missing out on some serious traffic and business growth by not using Pinterest… so I went in search of someone that could help.

5 WAYS TO USE TAILWIND TO AUTOMATE YOUR PINTEREST STRATEGY
Tailwind is an inexpensive tool I use every day in my business to maintain my many Pinterest accounts. These 5 features make it super easy to grow your business on autopilot!
TOOL 1: TAILWIND TRIBES
Tailwind Tribes are essentially niche-related pinning communities where you pin others content in exchange for sharing your own. It’s a great way to signal to the Pinterest platform that you have content that others love and is worth sharing! I also love Tribes from a collaboration and marketing perspective. You get a chance to get your pins in front of others and potentially introduce them to a product or service they didn’t know about!
Pro Tip: It’s important to find a niche that fits you and your brand—remember, you are going to be sharing their content, too, so those pins need to fit within your own brand and boards!
TOOL 2: TAILWIND SMARTLOOP
SmartLoop hasn’t been around for that long, but I love this new feature! SmartLoop allows you to “loop” your top evergreen or seasonal content pins on the platform. You can choose specific boards to share to and specific date ranges (which is especially handy for seasonal content) for those pins. SmartLoop is essentially an easy, automated way of getting more life out of the content you already created!
TOOL 3: BOARD LISTS
Board lists might just be my favorite Tailwind tool! When I’m scheduling my pins with Tailwind, I can assign one pin to multiple boards with just one click thanks to board lists. It’s a GREAT automation tool that saves so. much. time!
Pro Tip: I like to create what I call “board list categories”. For example, all of my boards related to Pinterest go into a “Pinterest” board list. Maybe you have a pumpkin dessert recipe that you can send to a desserts board, fall recipe board, pumpkin recipes board, and Thanksgiving recipes board. If you create an “All Things Fall” board list, you can send that one pumpkin dessert recipe pin to all 4 of those boards in just one click!
TOOL 4: INTERVAL SCHEDULING
Like board lists, interval scheduling allows you to drip out your pins within a designated timeframe. Instead of creating a headache-inducing spreadsheet to keep track of your pin schedule, Tailwind’s interval tool makes scheduling easy-peasy!
Pro Tip: You want to avoid dropping all of your content onto Pinterest all at once! I like to spread out my new content by pinning one particular pin to a different board each day!

TOOL 5: TAILWIND QUEUE
Last, but not least, you can add other people’s content in addition to your own to the Tailwind queue. Pinning consistently on the Pinterest platform is important, but the whole process can be done in advance!
Pro Tip: Add pin content to Tailwind using one of the many browser extensions and then give the whole queue a shuffle so the order of those pins seems natural and organic (interval pins that you scheduled previously will stay locked in place).
I love using Tailwind and I hope this post helps you make it an integral part of your Pinterest marketing strategy! Looking for more Pinterest tips?
