Monday has a seriously bad reputation, y’all! I see it time and time again, week after week:
- The Monday Blues
- The Monday Overwhelm
- A Case of the Mondays
- I need a coffee the size of my face because #Monday.
It kind of makes me sad that Mondays are hated on so much. Especially because it’s my favorite day of the week. There’s just something about a fresh week and a new to-do list that I LOVE!!
But I realize I’m one of few that feel this way.
Over the years, I discovered ways to make my Mondays productive and stress-free, and I’m sharing my all-time favorite way with you today!! This one tweak completely changed how I schedule my week AND shot my productivity through the roof!!!
You wouldn’t think such a small change could make such a big difference, but it can, friends, it can!!

HOW TO MAKE MONDAYS PRODUCTIVE & STRESS-FREE
I’m just going to come right out and tell you my secret for making Mondays productive and stress-free… and the secret is that it’s not really a secret. It’s a rule that I set for myself almost a year and a half ago to not schedule any kind of meetings or appointments on Mondays. (I don’t even run errands!!)
Instead, I use the completely uninterrupted time to really dig into my business and crush my to-do list. I can’t even tell you how much I get done on Mondays since I applied this rule to my life and business!! I’m so much more focused, super productive, and way less stressed.
And it’s all thanks to my hard-and-fast rule that I like to call my “No Interruptions” Monday Rule.

SO HOW DO YOU MAKE THE “NO INTERRUPTIONS” MONDAY RULE WORK FOR YOU?
The first thing you want to do is stop offering Monday as an option when scheduling meetings (including in-person, phone, and Zoom) with business pals or clients. (It’s easier than it sounds, I promise.)

I also try really (really) hard not to run errands or schedule any kind of personal appointments on Mondays. It’s just easier (and so much more productive) to not have to start and stop all the time. I like getting up on Monday knowing that I don’t have to go anywhere or see anyone. I can just sit down at my desk and #GSD.
Until you get used to this new schedule, I highly recommend adding an all-day “No Interruptions” Monday reminder to your calendar or planner so you have that visual reminder to reference when you are scheduling out your days, weeks, months, and year.
I also recommend planning out exactly what you’re going to be working on ahead of time. One of the biggest time wasters come Monday morning is sitting around trying to figure out what to do and where to start. By planning ahead of time, you can hit the ground running while your coffee is still brewing.
Pro Tip: I like to plan out my Monday (my entire week actually) on Sunday. This allows me to have a clear head to fully enjoy the weekend and feel completely prepared to give Monday my very best.

EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE
As with any rule, there are always exceptions. Emergencies happen and you have to take care of them. Opportunities crop up and you have to grab them. You unexpectedly run out of milk. The dog has to go to the vet. You need to run yourself or your kiddo to the doctor. Monday is the only day your hair stylist has available and you really need a haircut…
Life happens. The beauty of being your own boss is flexibility (as long as you don’t let it get the best of you).
