When you hear the word routine, you think (yawn) boring, (nose wrinkle) stick-in-the-mud, or (backing away slowly) regimented. I don’t blame you for thinking those things. But here’s the thing: when done right, routines can TOTALLY change your life for the better!!
You actually (probably) have more routines right now in your day and life than you realize.
Like the way you take your coffee (venti half-caf with a splash of cream and two sugars), or the way you shower (hair first, then face, then body), or the way you order takeout from the same place every Friday.
These are all routines, but they’re such simple, mundane, everyday things that you probably don’t even give them much thought. But I bet you would be completely thrown off if I asked you to change them. Think about it…

Absolutely not. You are more than welcome to write up the steps of your routines in an app, on paper, or in a project management system, but you don’t have to. You’re also more than welcome to use an app (like Done) or print out a free monthly calendar or habit tracker to help you track your progress and consistency. (Colored paper would make it funner!!)

I recommend that you focus on implementing one routine at a time, and only start adding in more once you feel comfortable with the last one.
Keep in mind that these routines are designed to help you be more productive in the things you’re already doing on a regular basis (like laundry and cleaning), or to incorporate new things that you know would be beneficial if you could find the time to fit them in (like exercise and self-care). These routines are all about helping you live your most productive and positive life, and will ultimately SAVE you time by making the things you do on a daily and weekly basis more streamlined and enjoyable.
