Productivity, but make it work for you. ✨
Let’s be honest, if “traditional” productivity advice worked, we’d all be THRIVING right now.
Instead, we’re juggling a thousand tasks, drowning in to-do lists, and measuring our worth by how much we check off rather than how we FEEL at the end of the day.
But if you caught my post on why it’s time to redefine productivity, YOU KNOW we’re not doing that anymore. 🙅🏼♀️
Because productivity isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what matters in a way that feels right for you.
👉🏻 So today, I want to walk you through eight simple shifts to take back control of your productivity without giving in to hustle culture or burning yourself out. 👈🏻
I promise this isn’t another hack-filled blog post with regurgitated tips that may or may not work for you. This is *your invitation* to REDEFINE how you get things done in your business AND your life!!

SHIFT #1: PRODUCTIVITY IS PERSONAL
Forget one-size-fits-all productivity hacks. Your energy, life, and business are unique—and your systems, routines, and schedules should be, too.
Sure, you can copy someone else’s morning routine, buy their planner, or download their “perfect” schedule… but if it wasn’t made for you, it simply won’t work for you.
Your energy, your season of life, and your business model all matter (and they require more than just copy and paste).
While doing what everyone else does might seem easier, the smarter way is designing systems, routines, and schedules that fit you like your fave pair of jeans.
Old Productivity Says: “Here’s the perfect 4-day schedule that works for everyone.”
Productivity Redefined Says: “Your schedule should fit you—your personality, preferences, and priorities—not the other way around.”
🎬 ACTION STEP: Track when you naturally feel focused, creative, or low-energy. Pay attention to the patterns you notice and use them to start building your schedule around you, instead of against you.
🤓 PRO TIP: Don’t want to start from scratch? Use The Productivity Zone Time + Energy Tracker to identify your peak productivity windows. Once you do, schedule your most important work there—and protect that focus + flow time like it’s sacred (because it is).
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: Productivity should fit you—not the other way around.
SHIFT #2: PRODUCTIVITY IS PURPOSEFUL
Let’s get one thing straight: busy is NOT productive.
If your to-do list feels e-n-d-l-e-s-s, but nothing you do is moving the needle—you’re not productive, you’re just occupied. 💥
Productivity isn’t about cramming more in; it’s about doing the right thing at the right time for the right reason.
When you work intentionally, instead of endlessly—and your daily tasks connect to your bigger goals—THAT’S when the magic happens.
Old Productivity Says: “Stay busy. Check every box.”
Productivity Redefined Says: “Do what matters most. Let the rest go.”
🎬 ACTION STEP: Before you start your day, ask yourself: If I only accomplished ONE thing today, what would move me forward most? That’s your top priority.
🤓 PRO TIP: Choose your Top 3 tasks for the day. Make sure at least one of them moves the needle on a long-term goal.
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: Busy isn’t productive. But being purposeful is.
SHIFT #3: PRODUCTIVITY IS PROFITABLE
If your business days are full but your results are flat, it’s time for a big ol’ reality check.
Your time is your most valuable resource. Everything you pour your time into should give you something back. Real productivity pays off—not just in money, but also in momentum, peace, and progress.
Old Productivity Says: “The more you work, the more successful you’ll be.”
Productivity Redefined Says: “Work smarter. Focus first on what grows your business and your bottom line.”
🎬 ACTION STEP: Audit your weekly to-do list and figure out what each task is giving back to you. Is it creating revenue? Building momentum? Supporting your bigger goals? Making your business easier to run? If the answer is nothing, it might be time to delegate it, batch it, automate it, or ditch it altogether.
🤓 PRO TIP: A full calendar (or to-do list) does not always equal a full bank account. Focus your energy on needle-moving AND money-making tasks first and foremost.
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: Your productivity should grow your business—not just your to-do list.

SHIFT #4: PRODUCTIVITY IS POSITIVE
We are REALLY freaking good at noticing everything we didn’t do.
- Didn’t finish the to-do list.
- Didn’t work enough hours.
- Didn’t wake up early enough.
- Didn’t stick to the schedule perfectly.
- Didn’t get as much done as we planned.
Should’ve done more. Could’ve done better.
Sound familiar? 🙋🏼♀️
We’ve been conditioned to measure our productivity by what’s not done instead of everything we actually accomplished.
👉🏻 And when THAT’S the scoreboard you’re using, you’re almost always going to feel like you’re losing.
Because there will ALWAYS be something else you could be doing. Another task. Another email. Another project. Another box waiting to be checked.
It’s time to stop grading your productivity based entirely on what you didn’t do.
Instead, build a way of working that encourages you, recognizes what you accomplish, and gives you the energy and motivation to keep going.
Old Productivity Says: “You didn’t finish everything. You should’ve done more.”
Productivity Redefined Says: “Look at what you DID accomplish. That counts, too.”
🎬 ACTION STEP: At the end of your day, write down three things you accomplished—even the tiny ones. Train yourself to notice what you DID get done instead of automatically focusing on what you didn’t.
🤓 PRO TIP: Keep a running “done” list somewhere you’ll actually see it. When it feels like you got absolutely nothing done, look back at it. Chances are, you’re doing a hell of a lot more than you’re giving yourself credit for. (And if you’re not, we need to talk!!)
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: Productivity should make you feel accomplished—not like you failed.
SHIFT #5: PRODUCTIVITY IS PEACEFUL
This might be crazy coming from a productivity coach, but hear me out:
You don’t have to be productive all day, every day.
You don’t have to be doing something from the time you wake up to the time you fall asleep.
And you definitely don’t have to EARN your rest or JUSTIFY your downtime.
Rest is a necessary part of being productive—not a reward you get when you finish everything.
The old way glorified burnout and called it dedication. But running yourself into the ground isn’t something to be proud of.
Productivity shouldn’t leave you feeling breathless 😮💨
Do I believe in being productive every day? Absolutely. But that doesn’t mean being productive ALL DAY, every day. There should be room in your day for the things you need to do AND the things you want to do.
Your schedule can be productive AND peaceful at the same time. It can give you the structure you need to get things done AND the space you need to work, rest, and play.
Old Productivity Says: “You can rest when you’re done.”
Productivity Redefined Says: “Rest belongs in the plan, too.”
🎬 ACTION STEP: Look at your schedule for the week ahead. Have you made room for the things you WANT to do alongside everything you NEED to do? If not, schedule them. Because you’re much more likely to make time for something than magically find it.
🤓 PRO TIP: Treat the personal things on your calendar with the same respect you give your work commitments. Don’t automatically bump your walk, workout, lunch break, or downtime just because another task could fill that space.
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: Scheduling your time isn’t about accounting for every minute—it’s about making sure the things that matter have a time and place in your day.
SHIFT #6: PRODUCTIVITY IS PROACTIVE
Constantly reacting to emails, DMs, notifications, requests, and whatever else pops up during the day isn’t productivity—it’s firefighting.
And when you’re always RESPONDING, you’re never really DIRECTING.
Instead of you deciding what deserves your time and attention, you’re letting whatever feels loudest or most urgent make that decision for you.
Being proactive means making those decisions BEFORE the day starts. When you plan ahead, set your priorities, and know what matters most, YOU get to decide how your time is spent instead of letting everyone and everything else make that decision for you.
Old Productivity Says: “React to whatever needs your attention right now.”
Productivity Redefined Says: “Decide what deserves your attention before the world decides for you.”
🎬 ACTION STEP: Before you shut down for the day, choose your Top 3 priorities for tomorrow. That way, you can start your day knowing what deserves your attention instead of figuring it out on the fly.
🤓 PRO TIP: Take a few minutes to look ahead at tomorrow before you log off. Check your calendar, review your priorities, and make sure you have what you need to hit the ground running. Future You will thank you!!
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: Plan your day before the world plans it for you.

SHIFT #7: PRODUCTIVITY IS PREDICTABLE
Predictability isn’t boring—it’s the foundation of f r e e d o m.
When you already know what happens when, you don’t have to waste time and energy figuring it out over and over again.
- What should I work on?
- When should I do this?
- Did I forget something?
- When was the last time I did that? 🤔
Systems, routines, and schedules answer those questions before you have to ask them. (In other woooords, predictability takes the GUESSWORK out of productivity!! 🥁)
They keep you consistent even when your motivation, memory, or energy isn’t cooperating.
And before you come at me… predictable doesn’t mean RIGID!! The right structure gives you something reliable to come back to—even when life inevitably throws your perfectly planned day out the window.
Old Productivity Says: “I’ll figure it out as I go.”
Productivity Redefined Says: “Create a rhythm you can rely on.”
🎬 ACTION STEP: Pick ONE recurring part of your day or week and give it a predictable home. Maybe it’s your morning setup, weekly planning, content creation, or admin work. Decide when it happens so you don’t have to keep deciding.
🤓 PRO TIP: If a routine only works when everything goes perfectly, it doesn’t really work. Give yourself room to adjust the how without abandoning the what. Consistency doesn’t require rigidity.
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: You shouldn’t have to reinvent the wheel every single day to be productive.
SHIFT #8: PRODUCTIVITY IS POWERFUL
True productivity is POWERFUL.
Not because you checked every box, worked every minute, followed your schedule perfectly, or mastered some magical formula.
But because you’ve learned how to use productivity without letting productivity use you.
When productivity is personal, purposeful, profitable, positive, peaceful, proactive, and predictable, it works FOR you—not against you.
And that changes everything.
You’re no longer trying to live up to someone else’s definition of what productivity is supposed to look like. You’ve redefined it for yourself.
Old Productivity had power over you.
Productivity Redefined gives the power back to you.
‼️ BOTTOM LINE: You’ve taken productivity back. It’s yours now. Act like it.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN TO TAKE BACK CONTROL OF YOUR PRODUCTIVITY
You don’t need to master all eight of these shifts overnight.
Let me say that again, louder, for the people in the back:
📣 YOU DON’T NEED TO MASTER ALL EIGHT OF THESE SHIFTS OVERNIGHT!!
In fact, please don’t. 🙏🏻 (😂)
Productivity Redefined isn’t another set of rules you have to follow perfectly. (That would kind of defeat the whole damn point.)
Instead, start by getting curious about what productivity looks like FOR YOU.
What’s working? What isn’t? Where are you spending your time and energy? What leaves you feeling accomplished—and what leaves you wondering where the hell your day went?
Because you can’t redefine something you haven’t taken the time to understand.
And that’s exactly why I created The Productivity Zone Time + Energy Tracker.
It’ll help you get an honest look at how you’re actually spending your time and energy—so you can spot the patterns, distractions, and opportunities hiding inside your everyday routine.
No judgment. No grading yourself. Just information you can actually use.
You don’t have to change everything today.
Start with awareness. Get curious. Then make one intentional shift at a time.
Because productivity isn’t about becoming better at doing everything.
It’s about building a way of working—and living—that works better FOR YOU.
And that’s Productivity Redefined. *mic drop*
